Viscosities and densities of different alcohols (1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-pentanol and 2-pentanol) at high pressures

High pressure viscosity data are necessary to complement fluid characterization, but their accurate determination is always a challenge due the lack of these data. This work focuses on characterizing four alcohols (1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-pentanol and 2-pentanol) through measurements using two different equipment: falling body viscometer vibrating wire viscometer. Both techniques can measure up 100 MPa, with relative expanded uncertainties (k = 2) 3.5% 1.5%, respectively. Since both viscometers need, as an input data, density measured compounds, tube Anton Paar DMA-HPM densimeter used determine densities in same ranges temperature uncertainty 0.70 kg·m?3. Finally, experimental fitted Tammann-Tait equation for VFT model viscosities obtaining standard deviations within measurements.
